It’s what brings us together- from every walk of life, regardless of any opinion or circumstance, we can always come as one and count on music. Of all the man-made inventions and techniques of the world, how lucky are we to have something so great as music? It’s a prescription with no side effects, a therapy session with no notes.

I was raised in a house where music was always played. When I was young and attended my first concert is when I really became hooked. I loved listening to the music I enjoyed, but getting to see it? Live in action?! It changed it all for me. There’s something truly remarkable about performance arts. The lights, the sound, the precision… It’s an architected ambience that is so meticulously crafted (and perfected) to match its stage-holder that it deserves an honorable mention.

I’ve traveled across many states to see concerts, but I am beyond gracious that we have so many amazing venues and opportunities for live music here in Arkansas. Some are outdoors, some are indoors, some even have a little flair of both. These establishments pour their hearts and souls into their performing acts and the result of this is pure magic. I was fortunate enough to have worked at one of these venues when I was younger and it was the experience of a lifetime.

Music can transform your mood and open your mind. To me, listening to music is like reading a great book that’s laced with instrumentals. The song lyrics tell the story while the music carries the plot forward.
And just like a book, you have to use our own imagination/interpretation of what the artist and writers are trying to convey.
Good music will speak to you in ways you couldn’t put into words yourself. Almost like a secret handshake, music translates into its own special language with its listeners. Every song has its own message for you to resonate with… And that message can be different for everyone. That’s what makes music so special and one of the greatest art forms we’ve ever come to know.
