Trout Unlimited / Ross Reels Native Series

Ross Reels x Trout Unlimited – Native Series Limited Edition

Fish On! Custom Rods carries the exclusive Ross Reels x Trout Unlimited Native Series — a limited edition collection of Colorado fly fishing reels celebrating the native cutthroat trout of the American West. Each reel is a collaboration between two of fly fishing’s most respected names, with artwork honoring the wild fish and wild places that make this sport worth protecting.

Greenback Cutthroat Special Edition

The Colorado 2/3 Reel in Greenback Cutthroat honors one of the rarest native trout in North America — a species brought back from the brink through decades of conservation work by Trout Unlimited and its partners. A collector’s piece and a functional reel built to Ross’s exacting standards.

Rio Grande Cutthroat Edition

The Colorado 2/3 Reel in Rio Grande Cutthroat celebrates the southernmost native cutthroat subspecies — a fish of high desert streams and cold mountain tributaries. Beautiful, rare, and worth fighting for.

Colorado River Cutthroat Edition

The Colorado 4/5 Reel in Colorado River Cutthroat rounds out the Native Series — a larger-arbor option for anglers targeting bigger water and bigger fish, wrapped in artwork that tells the story of the Colorado’s native trout.

Why It Matters

A portion of proceeds from the Native Series supports Trout Unlimited’s conservation work protecting native trout habitat across the American West. When you buy one of these reels, you’re not just getting a world-class fly fishing reel — you’re investing in the future of wild fish and wild places.
