GT Series | Scott Fly Rods
Scott GT: Smooth Progressive Action and Connected Feel
The Scott GT Series carries forward the G Series tradition with smooth progressive actions, responsive tips, and light-tippet protection. From short casts beneath streamside cover to long drifts on technical tailwaters, the lineup offers four- and five-piece models for different water and fishing styles.
Find Your Fishing Style
- Small streams: the 7 ft 4 in 3wt suits short dry-fly and dry-dropper casts; the 7 ft 10 in models offer compact options for small water.
- Packability: the 8 ft 4 in 3wt and 4wt break down into five sections for hike-in fishing and travel.
- Versatile fishing: the 8 ft 10 in lineup spans delicate dry-fly presentations through heavier nymph rigs and streamers, depending on line weight.
- Extra reach: the 9 ft 8 in 4wt suits technical nymphing and long leaders; the 5wt suits big-water nymphing, single-hand spey casts, and stillwater fishing.
Configuration note: the selector identifies the 8 ft 10 in 7wt and 9 ft 8 in 5wt as fighting-butt models. Scott explicitly confirms a fighting butt for the 9 ft 8 in 5wt; contact us to confirm the 7wt configuration before ordering. Photos show a representative GT rod, not every available model.
Construction and Components
- X-Core design with thin-wall blanks, multi-modulus layups, and ARC2 multidirectional fibers for recovery, stability, and line speed.
- Redesigned hollow internal ferrules that flex with the blank and are up to 20% lighter than their predecessors.
- Flor-grade cork grips and milled aluminum reel seats with Type 3 hard coat and cocobolo wood inserts.
- Titanium-framed zirconia no-tangle stripping guides and Snake Brand Universal snake guides.
- Measuring wraps and alignment dots.
