Location. This event will be held at North Little Rock Park & Recreation's Hospitality House in Burns Park, 402 W Military Road. The facility has tables and chairs for 200, an outdoor space, and good parking.
Timeline. Our intent is to have various events from about 2 PM to 5 PM and a catered dinner that starts at 530. We have invited a keynote speaker but are still confirming details & availability.
Events. We will have casting, hands on & featured tyers, and other fly fishing events in the afternoon for members to enjoy from 2 until dinner. We will have events for kids, women, an 'Iron Fly' style event, and more!
AFF Birthday Raffle. We are going to have a members' raffle with a twist....the items we will raffle will be gifts from members to AFF. The idea is to take our 50th Birthday opportunity as a way to connect or members to AFF and each other. Tie up some of your favorite flies, offer give a casting or tying lesson--or take someone fishing with you, whatever. It doesn't have to be huge...but how cool will it be to win something and connect to a fellow member? FYI We already do have some great prizes made by members including a custom AFF 50th Anniversary Sage Trout rod, customer net, tying tables, and flies. Will you be part of this?
Dinner. In a nod to AFF's history, we are having a Fish Fry (Did you know AFF's 'Fish Fry' initially started as a spaghetti supper?). Unlike our original fish fry events where all of the cooking was done by members, this one will be professionally prepared onsite. It will be a buffet style meal with catfish filets, chicken tenders, fried shrimp, fries, hushpuppies, baked beans, slaw, green tomatoes, pickles, onion, tea and lemonade.
