This pen is crafted using maple burl. The wood had been cut over fifteen years ago allowing nature to dry it. It is stabilized. During the finishing stage, I tinkered a little with the marine spar varnish and come out with a beautiful brownish finish. I'm thinking mother nature was cooperating.
