Of all 50 states in America, there is good reason Arkansas was named as “The Natural State”. This great state is actually an outdoor enthusiast’s perfect playground. In this article, we’ll discover some of the best ways to enjoy the natural waterway opportunities that Arkansas has to offer.
Arkansas is home to 33 major rivers and several other waterways that are ideally crafted for recreation and exploring. Two of the most notable ways to enjoy our lovely waters are to fish them and to float them. Whether you’re equipped for a long day kayaking the Buffalo or hoping for a Rainbow at the end of your line, any time spent outdoors on the water in Arkansas is a time to be remembered.Â
Arkansas is also home to many waterfalls and wading areas. There is nothing quite like taking a scenic hike and embarking on a waterfall or wading pool as your final destination (especially if you broke a sweat on your way)! There are public hiking trails available for every skill set, but we do recommend some stretching first.Â
Most of Arkansas’s bodies of water remain at a relatively cool temperature year round, but not in the city of Hot Springs. The city is uniquely known for its naturally-heated springs, in which visitors and citizens alike can “soak” in the 4,000 year old thermal water in some of their famous bathhouses. It’s been said that the water is both therapeutic and is safe for consumption, so be sure to try it for yourself! Take an empty jug or two and fill them up at one of the filling stations downtown… You’re likely to see a crowd there doing the same!Â

We wouldn’t be in the business of crafting incredible fishing gear if we didn’t love the waterways of Arkansas. It’s what got us here. Our dream is to share that love with others so they, too, can capture memories and experience the same joys we’ve had the pleasure of coming to know along the way. Fish On Custom Rods goes beyond being a brand. To us, it’s a lifestyle and a state of mind. It’s embracing what’s around us and harnessing the natural gifts we’ve been fortunately given. All it takes is dipping your toe in the water. We invite you to come on in… the water’s fine.Â
