The Original Formula Polymerized Tung Oil is the first product Sutherland Welles Ltd.® formulated. It’s a perfect choice for creating the finest hand rubbed finish. This product can be used for many different projects. 

Product Description:

Sutherland Welles Ltd.® Original Formula line was their very first line over 50 years ago. Still today, Sutherland Welles Ltd.® is formulating the line much as they did then with some important improvements. Sutherland Welles Ltd.® uses very low toxic chemical driers and now use a VOC exempt solvent that is virtually odorless.

That plus working with a natural tree product that is sustainably grown and harvested makes the completed formulation a great ecological choice for any project. This user-friendly line makes creating a beautiful hand-rubbed patina on cabinets, furniture, walls, windows, doors and floors a satisfying project.

Low Lustre is the perfect choice when a very low sheen is desired on a project. It’s not possible to add flattening agents to an oil only finish, so the way to control the sheen as you apply several coats for protection is to keep the amount of oil in each coat appropriate to the eventual sheen you want to create. For most wood species, four coats creates a satin finish.
